What is TraceReach?

A platform for planning, documenting, and measuring real-world campaigns. It keeps a photo record of what your campaign does in the world: posters, chalk pieces, displays, canvass stops. Where your design carries a QR code, it reads what people did after scanning.

What TraceReach calls things

Drop
One logged campaign activity: a poster or sticker going up, a flyer handed out, a canvass stop, a spray-chalked display, a mailed piece, and more. A Drop carries a photo, coordinates, a time, the material, and the campaign behind it.
Pin
A marked location on the campaign map. A Pin can be planned and assigned to a crew member ahead of time, or marked in the moment. A Drop logged at a Pin is a Pin Drop.
Spot
An external QR code a crew member runs across while working: someone else's code, logged where it stands. Spots sit on the map beside Drops and Pins.
Crew member
The person on the ground who logs Drops. Together they make up a crew, and each member signs in to TraceReach Drop with a Drop code.
Run
A grouping of Pins and drops inside a campaign. Runs are how a campaign gets split into rounds of work.
Hub
The workspace where a group's campaigns, people, materials, and data live. Hubs can share coverage with partner hubs.
Scan
One read of a TraceReach QR code, attributed back to the material, design, campaign, Drop, and Pin behind that code.
Short link
The destination a QR code resolves to. Change it after the material prints, and the code's scan history stays connected to the same campaign.

How TraceReach works

Does TraceReach track Crew members?

TraceReach locates Drops, not Crew members. The coordinates on a Drop describe where that campaign activity happened; they are a property of the record, not a position report on the person who logged it. TraceReach keeps no movement trail for a crew member, and Studio has no surface that shows where a crew member is right now.

TraceReach Drop reads GPS only while the app is open, with when-in-use permission only; it asks for no background-location permission on iOS or Android. Close the app and it stops reading location.

How does TraceReach verify a Drop?

A crew member opens TraceReach Drop at the place, scans the material's QR code if it carries one, and takes the photo. The location locks at the moment the shutter fires, accurate to within a few meters in good conditions, and the record carries the photo, the coordinates with the device-reported accuracy, the timestamp, and the campaign, material, and Run behind it.

A Drop assigned to a Pin is checked against the pinned coordinates; a geofence flags or rejects one outside the zone, depending on the mode the hub chose. With no signal, the record saves on the phone and syncs when signal returns.

Can TraceReach read what the material says?

Yes. A Drop logged without a code gets its photo read on the server: printed text, handwriting, chalk. A QR code the camera missed is recovered from the photo and tied back to its campaign. The words become the Drop's message, marked as a machine read until a person confirms or corrects them, and the same message logged at several places groups on the map with a running tally.

A design is read once, at the artwork: what it says and what it is about carry over to each Drop of that design, and one correction on the design reaches them all. The map searches by message and filters by medium and subject.

Can TraceReach log Spots, QR codes a Crew member did not place?

Yes. A Spot carries its own photo, place, date, and notes, and sits on the map beside Drops and Pins. Spots are how a crew records what else is up in a neighborhood, separate from the material the campaign put there.

What is the difference between TraceReach Studio and TraceReach Drop?

TraceReach Studio is the web app campaigners work in: build campaigns and materials, generate QR codes, set short links, place Pins, plan a Run, and read the map, the scans, and the reports. An assistant in the Studio header drafts a campaign from a conversation, landing pages and polls included, shows the plan as a preview, and creates it when you approve.

TraceReach Drop is the mobile app crew members carry, on iOS and Android: log a Drop with its photo, pick up assigned Pins, log Spots, and keep working offline.

Can TraceReach be used without QR codes?

Yes. A poster nobody scans still earns a Pin with its design, place, date, and photo, and the map still shows coverage and gaps.

Scan-based answers need a QR code. Which locations run hot, which design earns more response, and when a location goes quiet are all read off scans, so a campaign that prints no code gets the record and the map without those readouts.

What happens when someone scans a TraceReach QR code?

The code resolves through TraceReach and sends the person to whatever destination it points at right now: a landing page, a petition, a video, a poll, or any URL you set. You can change that destination after the material prints, and the scan history stays connected to the same campaign.

TraceReach records the scan against the material, design, campaign, Drop, and Pin behind that code, plus what the visitor did on the page after landing. Response is read in aggregate; TraceReach does not identify individual people.

Is TraceReach a QR code generator or a campaign platform?

TraceReach generates QR codes, and the codes are one piece of a campaign platform. A generator hands you a code and one scan count for the whole print run; TraceReach ties each scan to the design, the place, the day, and the campaign behind it, and keeps the record even where the material carries no code at all.

How much does TraceReach cost?

A Personal Workspace is free for one person, capped at 1 campaign, 5 design templates, and 20 logged drops.

Paid plans open your team, public campaigns, and the rest of Studio. They are scoped to the campaign you run and quoted on request during the open beta. On a paid plan, seats, campaigns, QR codes, short links, scans, pins, and drops are never metered.
