Apply for this roleAbout TraceReach
TraceReach is a start-up helping people plan campaigns, put them into the world and learn from what happens.
People use TraceReach Studio to choose places, prepare materials and coordinate with others. TraceReach Drop records activity on the ground, including posters going up, flyers being handed out, chalk drawings and canvass stops, with photos, locations and times.
Together, they give people a map and a record of their campaign. When materials include QR codes, people can also see the response by design and place, helping them decide what to try next.

We grew out of grassroots animal advocacy. Much of the community around TraceReach works toward animal liberation, animal welfare, human betterment and other forms of positive social change.
The role
We’re looking for someone who finds art, print campaigns and creative uses of technology interesting, and enjoys getting people involved.
You might help run an international art contest, support someone starting their first campaign, or bring together artists and organizers who could make something together. You’ll help develop ideas and handle the details that make them possible: finding participants, writing to people, working out logistics and following through.
The work will change as projects develop. We’ll agree on priorities that fit your hours, interests and strengths. The examples below describe possibilities across the role; we’ll choose what to take on together.
There’s room for you to shape that work. You may bring a skill we haven’t thought to ask for, know people we should meet, or spot a use for TraceReach we haven’t considered. We’d like those discoveries to influence what we do.
What you might work on
- Campaigns, contests and events. Help shape the idea, find participants and collaborators, organize the practical details and keep people informed.
- Creative experiments. Try ways of combining art, posters, stickers, chalk and QR codes to invite people into a campaign.
- Community and collaboration. Talk with artists, organizers, activists and volunteers. Make introductions where people have shared interests and help them work out what to do together.
- Getting people started. Help someone plan and run their first TraceReach campaign, answering questions and noticing where they get stuck.
- Improving TraceReach. Bring back specific examples of what people find useful, what confuses them and what would help.
- Your own proposals. Research an idea, explain why it seems worth trying and help organize a manageable first attempt.
What you’d bring
You might be someone who stops to look at a great poster, follows an unusual public art project, or starts working out the practicalities when a friend suggests a campaign.
You enjoy meeting people who care about something and finding out what they’re trying to do. You’re comfortable reaching out, researching unfamiliar subjects and making reasonable decisions as you learn.
You’re resourceful: you take initiative, find practical ways forward and make good use of the resources available. You know when to seek help or try another approach.
You’re comfortable making use of generative AI when it can help you research, explore ideas, draft, organize information or work through an unfamiliar problem. We’ll provide access to the tools you need; what matters is being willing to learn how to use them well.
You also understand that creative work involves unanswered emails, schedules, reminders and details someone needs to check. You’re willing to do that part and keep others informed.
Experience in organizing, advocacy, art, events, communications, marketing, partnerships or community building can help. Curiosity, judgment, initiative and follow-through matter more to us than a particular résumé. Technical training or professional event experience are optional.
You could be early in your career or fitting this alongside your own art, organizing, studies or freelance work. If you see a way to contribute that this description hasn’t covered, we’d like to hear about it.
Why we’re doing this
We want to help people act together on things they care about. That might mean an artist finding a group that can use their work, an organizer getting help with a campaign, or people in another town learning enough from it to try their own.
Our long-term ambition is total peace: reducing violence and suffering, and helping people with shared aims find each other and organize. Our roots are in animal advocacy, and we’re interested in how that work connects with efforts to improve people’s lives.
How to apply
Email jobs@tracereach.org with a little about yourself, what interested you about TraceReach, and anything you’ve done that you think is relevant.
A résumé, portfolio, examples of your work, projects you’ve organized, or simply an idea for something you think TraceReach could be doing are all welcome. A traditional cover letter isn’t necessary.
If you see something in TraceReach that we haven’t mentioned, tell us.
